Imagination vs Reality
As i stand under the rain of warm water falling on me from the shower tap,i realise that reality is just a figment of imagination. Or is it just the opposite?
Well,well.. let me give you some food for thought:)
This instance is for all those who cannot draw well (including me)
So it goes, just before the art or drawing exam we would (at least i would) imagine my drawing mentally. Let's suppose I have to draw a classical bharatnatyam dancer on the stage dancing gracefully.. i would imagine the drawing in pencil in an art book in my mind..the dancer's torso, her legs in a half sitting (called adavu in bharatnatyam) position, one arm facing upwards and the other on shoulder level.and yes of course, the quintessential plait swinging towards the side and the inevitable ghungroo or the salangai( the musical anklet). Yes,perfect. The drawing would come out well, i would think. In the exam hall, what would come out? A non understandable half done messy drawing without any colour. True?? If so,..I reiterate. Is reality a figment of our imagination??
As for those of us who like to write, and have written.. the beauty of the idea contained in our heads would excite us..and when written down on pen and paper, wouldn't our writing disappoint us a bit? Because in our imagination, the idea would be so great and beautiful and nothing as great as that would come out on paper. Imagination is nowhere close to our reality.
And how many of us have got those "deja vu" feelings for scenes that occur in day to day life and have a feeling that we got the same scene as a dream a few weeks ago?? I bet many of us would have. We would be saying to ourselves, same dress, same people, same dialogues and everything is the same!.
Aha! So,
Is reality just a figment of imagination?? or maybe, we could say, that the reality isn't as colourful as we expect in our imagination?
Think think.
P.S: I didn't like the way this post turned out to be too
Or is it just the perfectionist in me calling out??
